About Nature Trails at Riverside Park

Location:

Located just north or I-76. You can see the park to the north as you exit off the interstate.

The History:

We have not tracked down a history of this park yet.

The Haunting:

The trails at Riverside Park run along the South Platte River where a young woman (purportedly a witch) is said to have walked into the river to kill herself. She was, of course, tired of all the taunting and just wanted to "end it".

Observations:

Similar stories of witch's offing themselves exist in many places. Often, "witch stories" involve a hanging, occasionally a burning at the stake, etc., and every now and then, the stories include a crazy character (the witch) who offs herself because she's sick of being taunted.

I live near Ft. Morgan and have been on the nature trails many times. Though I haven't experienced anything "supernatural", I intend to investigate now that I have read this!
