About Mauvilla Cemetery

Mauvilla Cemetery

Kali Oka Road in Saraland, Alabama is renowned for its paranormal phenomena. An old plantation known as the Oak Grove Plantation is located along the road just beyond Cry Baby Bridge and Dead Man’s Curve. Also along this winding and treacherous path are a couple of cemeteries, some of which are purportedly haunted. Mauvilla Cemetery is one of them.

The numerous hauntings along Kali Oka Road have made some people question which ghosts belong to which haunt. For example, a ghost from the Kali Oka Road Plantation (Oak Grove Plantation) is sometimes seen making his way to the site of his infant son’s death: Cry Baby Bridge in Saraland. Fatalities at Dead Man’s Curve near the bridge and Mauvilla Cemetery may be the cause of paranormal activities. It’s hard to tell. People have reported a variety of different weird-ish experiences all along Kali Oka Road from ghost sightings to vehicular malfunctioning. Take a flashlight and drive carefully. And go on the night of a full moon. Visitors claim to experience better paranormal results when the moon is full.

There are 172 graves in the cemetery plus a few unmarked slabs for adults and children.
