About Horse Thief Canyon

Location:

Located at the Colorado National Monument. It is not accessible by car. Rather, you will have to hike 2 miles on the Kokopeli Trailhead to reach it. It is in the McGinnis Conservation Area. For assistance finding the exact location, stop at the Visitor's Center and purchase a map of the Colorado National Monument and ask for help, if needed.

The History:

Horse thieves hid horses in the canyon years ago. A sheriff discovered the hiding place and shot the horse thieves and their horses.

The Haunting:

Reports of a lady in white walking along the canyon walls.

Observations:

White, grey, and black ladies are commonly reported throughout North America. Often, the these ladies are said to be searching for a loved one.
